Dear friends and neighbours,

I am pleased to report that the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is scheduled for completion in 2022. The project includes 25 new transit stops and could cut travel times by up to 60% when compared with buses on the corridor.

This highly anticipated route—an 11-year project in the making—will add an important transit line to our community, allowing for easier travel across the City of Toronto and encouraging greater economic activity.

Additionally, today the Planning and Housing Committee approved the proposal to permit the development of garden suites (detached accessory dwelling units) in the rear yards of properties within the Residential Zone categories. City Council will be reviewing the bylaw in February. As part of the City of Toronto's "Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods," garden suites would increase the supply of housing and create more housing options in residential neighbourhoods.

Sincerely,
Frances
