January 5 eNews

Dear friends and neighbours,

Yesterday, the provincial government announced that Ontario would temporarily return to a modified version of Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen, effective January 5, 2022. These measures will remain in place for at least 21 days (until January 26, 2022), subject to favourable trends in the province's public health indicators.

Temporary Step Two measures include:

  • Closing indoor dining at restaurants and bars;

  • Limiting personal care services to 50% capacity;

  • Limiting retail settings to 50% capacity and closing food courts;

  • Closing indoor sport and recreation facilities, including gyms; and

  • Requiring businesses and organizations to ensure their employees work remotely unless the nature of their work requires them to be on-site.

These measures will also impact select City services, as outlined here. Additionally, the Toronto Public Library has announced the closure of 44 branches, including the Evelyn Gregory location in our ward.

Happy 2022—stay positive and test negative.

Sincerely,
Frances
