Ward 5 - Snow Update

Good afternoon,

I recognize that you may have recently received an e-news blast on the steps that City is taking to address the Monday's snowstorm. However, given the unprecedented situation, I believe this warrants an additional update.

Please note that as of this morning 311, is now accepting snow removal requests for unplowed roads and sidewalks. If your street and or sidewalk has been missed, you will be able to provide 311 staff with your address and it will be placed on their "missed list," and crews will be scheduled to be sent out.

Additionally, the City also offers a Sidewalk Snow Clearing Program for seniors and those persons with a disability. To learn more about this program, click here.

If your vehicle has been towed to make remove for snow clearing services and you have not been contacted by the City, please reach out to Toronto Police Service at: (416) 808-2222 or visit their website by clicking here.

Finally, business owners must clear the adjacent sidewalk of snow or ice within 12 hours of the end of a snowfall, as per the Snow and Ice Clearing Bylaw. The fine for not clearing snow from public property can be up to $135.

Sincerely,
Frances
