November 24 eNews

Dear friends and neighbours,

Health Canada has approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for kids aged 5–11.

The province's Health Minister, Christine Elliott, has stated that children are eligible for an appointment if they turn five before the end of the year. Currently, vaccination appointments are available through the Government of Ontario website, and soon they will also be available at local pharmacies, participating family health teams, and school vaccination clinics. Parents, caregivers, and students will be notified directly by their school when a clinic is available to them. Additionally, Humber River Hospital will begin offering vaccines to children on November 25—and the first 500 vaccinated will receive a stuffed friend 🧸

Finally, please note that the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommends that children who have recently received a flu shot or another vaccine should wait 14 days before being vaccinated against COVID-19.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
Frances
