Report on the Keele-St. Clair Local Area Study

Following the June 28, 2021, Directions Report to the Planning & Housing Committee meeting and subsequent consultation, City Planning Staff are advancing a report for the Keele-St. Clair Local Area Study (KSC LAS) to the Planning & Housing Committee on November 25, 2021.

The proposed Secondary Plan, Site and Area Specific Policies and land use modifications respond to feedback from public and stakeholder consultation and are intended to create a framework for the development of a complete community around the planned St. Clair-Old Weston GO Transit/SmartTrack Station located at the intersection of Union and Townsley Streets. A draft Official Plan Amendment is appended as Attachment 1 to this report. A copy of the report and draft Secondary Plan can be accessed by clicking here.

The draft Official Plan Amendments will be used as the basis for ongoing consultation with the public, stakeholders and City divisions with the intent of staff advancing proposed changes in early 2022 as part of the final recommendation on new policies and the final assessments of requests to convert lands within Employment Areas as part of the Municipal Comprehensive Review.

I welcome any feedback you have on the draft policies. I will be in touch with details on the upcoming consultation events in the new year.
